Your privacy is important to us and this policy is designed to help you understand how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your data and personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles and Privacy Act 1988
Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you provide to us such as your name, date of birth, address, contact information, financial billing information, health insurance details, medical and dental history. In addition, we collect health information including but not limited to clinical data, photographs, intra-oral scans and radiographs during our clinical procedures.
How We Use Your Information
We only use your personal and health information that is necessary for us to deliver services to you including;
- Provision of Orthodontic Clinical Services including appliances such as braces, expanders, plates, clear aligners (i.e. Invisalign, Angel Aligners), customised brackets and other appliances.
- Liaising with other Health care providers involved in your care such as your dentist, dental and/or medical specialists.
- Processing payments or claims
- Communicating with you, including keeping you updated on appointments and responding to inquiries and emails
- Analysis and quality assurance processes.
Third Party Services
In order to provide our services to you, we engage various third-party providers that provide practice management software, laboratory services, clear aligners (Invisalign and Angel Aligner) and payment plans. Your information may be shared with these providers in order for us to provide you with our clinical services. Only the information necessary for them to provide the service will be shared. We encourage you to review their privacy policies if you have any concerns.
Sharing of Information
We share your information with Health care providers involved in your care, your health insurer to facilitate claims and when legally required to (i.e. court orders). In addition, we may need to share your information with our third-party service providers as noted above, in order for us to provide you with our clinical services.
Data Security
We employ reasonable security measures to protect your personal and health information from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Our systems are encrypted and password protected, however no transmission or storage method is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Correcting and Updating
To ensure we can give you the best care possible, it’s important that we have accurate and up-to-date information about you. If anything changes in your personal details, like your address, names, or contact details, please let us know so we can update your records.
Changes
We reserve the right to change and update our Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated policy at reception and on our website.
Consent
We need your consent to collect, use, and disclose your personal and health information. If you don’t provide consent, we won’t be able to provide you with orthodontic services.
